Examining Innovation in Energy Systems

What will our energy system look like in 50 years, 20 years or even 5 years from now?

In terms of electricity – will it look much the same as it does today, or will it be a diverse mix of centralised and distributed generation plants?

Energy efficiency across the supply chain will continue to drive innovation. The uptake of distributed energy systems is increasing dramatically, particularly in Europe. Do similar opportunities exist in Australia?

Katestone has the pleasure of introducing two special guests who are putting their efforts into rethinking key components of our energy system:

Andrew Chamberlin

Project Manager – District Cooling, Citysmart

Andrew is an environmental scientist and town planner with extensive experience in the development of renewable energy resources, in both Australia and the UK. Industrial and building energy efficiency have also featured in his portfolio. Andrew joined Citysmart in 2009 to develop and commercialise a district cooling project to be located in Brisbane’s CBD.

Thomas MacIlhatton

Manager – Innotech

Innotech develop highly innovative user friendly HVAC control systems and Building Management Systems. Their continuing efforts in product research and development ensure that their products are at the cutting edge. Thomas has worked in a variety of technical and business development roles at Innotech and understands the real value that control systems can create in terms of energy efficiency.
